Monique is a new type of voice I haven’t experienced. She doesn’t teach from the mountain top. She teaches from connection. She is paving the way for others to do this work. You may enter her events as a first timer nervous, hesitant and frustrated. She encourages everyone to be held and loved as they are. The events have great diversity in sexuality and gender. Her voice is inclusive and not dogmatic. It is easy to be inclusive as it is about self love. She says whatever is happening is ok. Loving, motherly nurturing energy that allows all of those things to be there without fixing and changing. For many, this is first time this has been allowed. It is empowering. She says these are my struggles and these are some things I still struggle with. This is my journey and it is still ongoing. That is why she is relatable.
Monique is authenticity. She is realness. One of the first things you lean about Monique and her journey is that it is not a how to. You learn from experience and use that as a foundation to connect with others.
Monique encourages “messiness”, she teaches that “messy” and “beautiful” are synonymous. It’s okay to have an “emotion” and it is no longer controlling my experience and highjacking it. Monique creates space that everything is okay and there is no longer a struggle. I would tell others if they are a Yes say Yes. If they are a maybe say no. You have to be a hell yes. Monique would not want them to do anything they are uncomfortable with including coming, because these teachings are about self. You don’t have to do anything. You can listen or be a voyeur. You can leave anytime. Go for 5 minutes and realize you don’t want t be there. Leave then. No backlash. Every level of self care is encouraged. I love it.
Monique’s voice is desperately needed. It is unique in vulnerability and authenticity. She speaks about herself not about her work or messages and methods to be justified or proven. And that is what I like. Straightforward and simple.
